The extraordinary artistic and natural beauty of Opus 40 provides a unique setting for Carl Orff’s celebrated masterpiece. Following a long-established Opus 40 tradition, the audience is invited to arrive early with picnic dinners. The gates will open at 5:30 p.m. Chairs will be set up in the amphitheater, but audience members may bring their own chairs to enjoy the performance from surrounding hillsides. The concert will be conducted by Ars Choralis Artistic Director Barbara Pickhardt. Duo- pianists Andrea Shaut and Kristen Tuttman will be joined by a five-member percussion ensemble led by Christopher Earley. Soloists - soprano Lily Arbisser, tenor Christopher Sokolowski and bass Paul Frazer - are featured as is The Hudson Valley Youth Chorale, under the direction of Mathew Camara.
