The Hudson Valley Artists (HVA) Hurricane Relief Project, a non-profit 501c3, is a collective of some of the Hudson Valley’s most illustrious and talented musical artists who got organized last year for the sole purpose of raising money to help the thousands of people that are still struggling to recover and rebuild their lives in the devastating aftermath of the 2011 Hurricane Irene and subsequent tropical storms. The devastation caused by Tropical Storm Irene and Lee isn't in the news anymore. But it's not over. For many of our neighbors, the lives they knew before Irene and Lee have ended. Their homes and businesses are gone. The tremendous work to rebuild will last for months and the trauma of those events may linger for years. "In light of the recent devastation from Hurricane Sandy in the NY area, we are extending the reach of this project to include help to those down state in the NYC metro area, as well as the Hudson Valley. Our hearts go out to all those that have suffered from the effects of this unprecedented, catastrophic storm and hope for their complete and speedy recover. "Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life." -John Lennon. Hurricane Sandy was devastating and Hurricane Irene still haunts us!
